Life is perfect! :)

I have had sinus problems for the last couple years.  I went to a specialist a few years ago and he did some testing and discovered I had problems with my sinus and we would eventually have to do surgery to go in and open them up.  At the time I was too young and my sinus were to close together to do anything with them so I had a standing prescription with him.  I was on a prescription at least once a month for the last few years.  But it just kept getting worse.  I had this last infection for about six months and had been on about four prescriptions but it was not going away.  So after a few months of misery I made an appointment with him again to discuss getting the surgery done.  After another CT scan he discovered one side of my sinus's were clogged and the other side had a cyst. He decided it was time to do the surgery and open them up to help me feel better.  My surgery was set for June 9th.  I was so ready to start feeling better.  I had been so drained and felt like crap for the last six months I was just ready to get back to normal and have energy again.  I was not nervous at all I just wanted it to all be over.  The day before I had the surgery I started to think about everything which in return made me really nervous and very emotional.  Jake was able to give me a blessing that night which really helped me calm down.  We had Addalynn sleepover at my parent’s house that night so we did not have to drag her out early in the morning.  I had no idea that would be so hard for me to be away from her for a night.  When we came home I had to close the door to her room and could not look at anything of hers because I would just start crying.  I was just emotionally and physically drained.  That night I only slept about an hour and a half I was so nervous and had so much on my mind.
That night it hit me…. I am so blessed and so lucky.  I have the best husband in the entire world.  He has put up with so much and he never complains.  The last few weeks he has worked at least 65 hours and after a long day at work he comes home and the first thing he does is take Addalynn and asks what can he do to help me out. He always goes above and beyond.  He is willing to work as much as he has to so I am able to stay at home with our daughter and I don’t have to work.  The last few weeks he goes to work in the morning he leaves we go to school then he goes back to work.  It was really hard for me to have him gone that much I had to keep reminding myself he is doing this for us and not only me and Addalynn but my dad as well.  My dad is so busy and Jake has been working this much to help him out.  I don’t know very many men out there that would do that.  Jake and I had definitely had our struggles the last few years.  We have had a lot of good times as well as the hard times.  When I look back at all of the struggles and trials we have had it makes me realize why we are as strong as we are.  I love this man so much.  I love him more and more each day.  I am so lucky to have married such a wonderful man that cares and loves his family as much as he does.
The biggest blessing I have is our baby girl Addalynn.  My mom always said when I was pregnant I would have a hard baby because I had such an easy pregnancy well… she was wrong! I have the best baby in the entire world.  She is the sweetest little thing.  She is so easy going and always has a sweet little smile on her face.  At one point in time she had a double ear infection and was getting in her first two teeth at the same time and the only reason we knew she was sick was because she had a really high fever.  She sleeps about twelve hours a night and takes at least two sometimes three naps during the day.  She is that dream baby that everyone wants and I am lucky enough to have.  I love this little girl so much she has stolen my heart.
I want to thank my parents for helping me out the last few days.  They have taken Addalynn for me so I could rest.  They are the best parents I could ever ask for!! So thank you and I love you so much!!
Everything is going so good in my life right now.  I am so blessed and so lucky!!

Count your blessings..

I have not updated my blog for awhile.  We have had a lot happen in the last month.  Jake and I had found a house we wanted to buy in Springville, we felt really good about it so we decided to put in an offer and just see what happened.  We had set up a meeting with the realtor for Tuesday morning to work on an offer.   When we met with him he informed us that someone had put in an offer the night before.  We were still able to put in our offer however the other offer would be taken before ours.  Well they went under contract so we thought that was it we had no chance to get that house.  About a week later we found out the other couple had backed out so the house was back on the marked and we would be able to place another offer.   We placed our offer on the low end the bank came back and counter offered our offer, theirs was on the high end.  So we decided to go ahead and counter offer again we only offered $1,000 more than our first offer.  When we told the realtor what we wanted to counter offer we told us he did not think the bank would accept it and because we were going to counter offer it would open the doors to any other offers on the table.  Well Jake and I talked about it and we decided if someone came in and offered more than it was not meant to be.  So after a few days of waiting we received a call and they told us the bank had accepted our offer!  We were so excited we were getting the house we had fallen in love with and better yet for the price we had wanted!  So we put down our earnest money and then two days later Jake was laid off from his job.  This was so hard for us.  We could have still gone through with everything but we decided we did not want to get in over our heads. I have to admit I was so heartbroken, to this day I still get a little choked up when I drive by the house and see the for sell sign .
Jake is now working for my dad.  We are so blessed he is busy!  This has been a blessing not only to us but to my dad as well.  My dad’s full time employee left for his mission a few weeks ago so Jake is able to work as many hours as he could ever want to. My dad is so good about working around Jakes school schedule.  I have always said everything happens for a reason.  After Jake lost his job it defiantly tested our faith.  I am still not sure why all of this happened however all I do know is we are so blessed to have work and a job that we can rely on.    Jake and I started school again last night.  I had not taken classed about a year however Jake only had two weeks off before he had to start back up.  We are taking the same classes which is fun because we get to spend more time together.
Addalynn had her first surgery on her six month birthday.  She had to get tubes in her ears.  We were actually looking forward to this day.  She had two ear infections before she had her surgery.  She did so good and we are so happy she is no longer in pain! On a much happier note (well somewhat) Addalynn turned six months old on the 5th! I have so many mixed emotions about this, I hate to see my little baby girl grow up but on the other hand she is so fun! She is now rolling over, talking, she is trying so hard to crawl but just cannot figure it out so she scoots… backwards! You can just see the frustration in her face when she is trying to go forward but only goes in the wrong direction.  She is growing up so fast and we are so excited to watch her grow up.
We are so excited for summer and what else we have to come.  We have a lot planned and could not be more excited!!

My father gave me the greatest gift anyone could give another person… he believed in me.

Yesterday April 7th 2011 was Scott’s birthday (Jake’s dad).  This was really the first year we had to chance to do something for his birthday.  I didn’t know what was the best way to handle this special day.  Part of me just did not want to mention it because I know it is really hard on Jake.  After thinking for a while I decided this is a special day and just because he is not here with us does not mean we should not celebrate it and keep his sprit in our lives.  So I made him some cupcakes and a card.  I went to the store and bought a few of his favorite items.  I also picked up a pizza and movie to watch.  Every year on his birthday him and Jake would order pizza and just watch movies that night, so I decided we would keep this tradition going.  I had my mom watch Addalynn for a little while and I took him over to the cemetery and left a cupcake and the card we made.
Unfortunately I never had the chance to meet Scott.  Jake has told me so many wonderful stories about him.  I wish I would have been able to meet him.  But I would just like to thank him for making Jake the man he is today.  Jake was able to learn so much from him in such a short amount of time.  Jake lost his dad at the age of 16.  It is horrible to have to say goodbye to your dad at such a young age.  However I have never met someone so strong.  I don’t think he would be so strong or where he is today if he wouldn’t have gone through all the trials in his life!
Here are a few pictures from the cemetery.

A Christmas present I gave Jake a few years ago.

This was taken right after his dad passed away.

Valentine’s Day!

We had a good Valentine’s Day.  Jake had school that night and also had to work at 3:00 the next morning so we didn’t make any big plans.  I went out to dinner with my family and when Jake was done with school he met us at the restaurant.   I bought Jake some chocolate covered strawberries from Shaybee’s (SO SO delicious!) and also bought him some of his favorite treats.  Jake is so sweet and ordered me some flowers and the best gift of all he organized our laundry room!! I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful husband and daughter.  I hope you all had a great Valentine’s Day!!

A little about the Jepson family!

Jake and I went to high school together.  We were both in the FFA and met when we took a trip down to Las Vegas to watch the PBR.  We later become closer friends when we went in the same group to a high school dance.  Six months later we started dating, and now have been together for over two years and have the most beautiful baby girl.
We currently live in Spanish Fork. Jake is working at Stouffers full time, going to school full time and whenever he has free time he is also working for my dad.  Because my husband is so selfless I am able to be a stay at home mom to our wonderful daughter.  I feel so blessed everyday because I have such a wonderful husband.  He would do anything for me or Addalynn no matter what it required out of him.  Jake has to work every morning between 2 and 5 a.m. he only gets a few hours of sleep every night because he says he would rather spend time with us then sleep. After he gets home from work he helps me around the house, does his homework, goes to school, then comes home and helps some more before going to bed.  I feel so blessed to have such a great husband who I love so much!!
Addalynn is three months old.  Everyone has always said enjoy kids when they are little because they never stay like that for long.  Well I am here to agree with every person who has ever said that.  My mom always joked that because I had such an easy pregnancy I would have a hard baby… well she was wrong!!!! I have the best baby any mother could ever ask for.  She started sleeping through the night at two months old.  She currently sleeps anywhere from ten to twelve hours a night.  She is the happiest little baby you will ever meet.  My family doesn’t think she can even cry.  The only time she gets mad is when she is hungry, then you have about two minutes tops to get her food or she gets mad.  She has so much personality for someone so young! She thinks she is a big girl and needs to be sitting up at all time and be involved with anything going on.  When someone is holding her and they try to rock her she will start crying, we simply tell them to sit her up and she will stop right away.  She has been the biggest blessing in my life.  It is so hard to think back and wonder how you ever did it without her!! I am so sad that she is growing up so fast but at the same time I am so excited for everything that we still have to come!
Jake and I have some big plans for the future.  We are in the process of looking for a house to buy.  We will hopefully find one we love and be moved in by August.  Jake is going to UVU and is majoring in exercise science.  Once he receives his bachelors he will start the PA program at Weber University.  I will start school in the fall semester at UVU and major in Criminal Justice.  Jake and I have been so blessed.  We have had so much family help, encouragement and guidance in the past year.  I look back and wonder why we have been so blessed.  I don’t even like to think about where we would be if we did not have such wonderful families which we love so much and could never thank them for everything they have and do for us!!

First Post!

This is the first post of our blog.  My FAVORITE Aunt Mary helped me set it up so I am dedicating this post to her!
